Ehhh vagina or vulva?

So many words!

Fanny, yoni, vajayjay, punani, vag, vagine, foof, flower, lady bits; all these different terms for the female sex organs. Is it already making you dizzy? But what is up with all those terms? These are all different names for the vagina or vulva. And what is the difference between the vagina and vulva? The vagina is part of the internal female sex organs and the vulva is the external part.

The vagina

The vagina is part of the internal female sex organs. The other parts of the internal sex organs are the cervix, uterus, oviducts and the ovaries. The vagina forms the connection between the uterus and the outside. The vagina is also the place where the penis is inserted when engaging in heterosexual intercourse. The vagina has elastic walls that are perfused with blood. When sexually aroused the perfusion in the vaginal walls increases, which causes a higher pressure on the blood vessels. The pressure pushes the blood plasm to go out which eventually ends up in the vagina. This is the process of becoming ‘wet’ ( also called lubrication) when aroused.

The vulva

The vulva is the external part of the female sex organs. This includes the venus mound, clitoris, urethra, labia minora, labia majora, opening of the vagina, vestibule of the vagina (area between the labia minora) and the perineum (area between vagina and anus). When speaking of the vulva people often mean the labia majora and the labia minora
